Hey guys! It's nice to finally talk to you all ! I took a class on healthy eating for the mind and body and it was an amazing cooking class which taught us how to be healthy on a budget as well. During the quarantine I know none of us are benefiting financially and mentally so I thought I would share some pointers I learned.
1. You do not have to get everything organic !!
Follow the dirty dozen
Strawberries
Spinach
Kale
Nectarines
Apples
Grapes
Peaches
Cherries
Pears
Tomatoes
Celery
Potatoes
prioritize these being organic vs everything else
2. IK its a dumb one but it is so important
Do not spend money on unnecessary groceries
for example I had to get buttermilk for a recipe and so instead of buying it and wasting money inly using it once I made my own by mixing milk and lemon juice.
3. Make things in batches
I usually make dressings in jar amounts so I don't have to keep on making it continuously.
Or you can meal prep which saves money by mixing your options via day per week
4. Buy seasonal ingredients
It even tastes better too!
5. Eat less meat
Meat prices will be increasing so look for good substitutes also its just better.
6. Eat more of the Clean 15 (foods with less pesticides)
Avocado
Sweet Corn
Pineapple
Onion
Papaya
Sweet Peas Frozen
Eggplant
Asparagus
Cauliflower
Cantaloupes
Broccoli
Mushrooms
Cabbage
Honeydew Melon
Kiwi
Hope this helps and I love you all<3
Jayme :)
